|---|---|---|---|
| Two technical fouls | Track the technical-foul category | Loss | 4.6 |
| Four violations | Track the violation category | Loss | 4.7; 12.5 |
| Unsuccessful Natural Movecount claim | Arbiter verifies the sequence | Technical foul and five-minute deduction | 8 |
| Disagreement with a ruling | Use the written appeal procedure | Review by the designated authority | 12.4; 18 |
Responsible conduct
Follow the announced regulations, respect opponents and officials, and raise a dispute through the proper procedure. The arbiter's record should describe the act and the rule applied, rather than merely recording an unexplained warning number.
Withdrawal is a separate question
Article 11.3 addresses the effect of withdrawal on results. Its English wording does not clearly define the case of withdrawing exactly halfway through an event. Preserve the results and seek an official ruling for that boundary instead of choosing an arithmetic convention on the player's behalf.
FAQ
Can I add technical fouls and violations into one total?
No. Keep the categories separate and apply their stated thresholds. A score sheet should retain the rule reference for each recorded incident.
